The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) released its Environmental Assessment (EA) for Dominion’s proposed fracked gas export facility at Cove Point on May 15th, triggering a 30-day public comment period. This Environmental Assessment is deeply flawed, failing to thoroughly analyze the climate, fracking, safety and health impacts of Dominion’s plan, to name a few. We need a full federal Environmental Impact Statement — and we need to come out in big numbers to make our voices heard at FERC’s ONLY planned public meeting.
FERC is holding its public hearing in Lusby, Maryland on Saturday, May 31st from 1pm – 6pm. The Saturday meeting in Calvert County could be the only chance for Marylanders to stand face-to-face with federal regulators and make our voices heard. We need to turn out a huge crowd!
