Baltimore First Friday Forum: Bag it

April 5 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

First Friday Forums are a monthly potluck dinner, documentary screening, and discussion hosted by the Baltimore Gathering of the Commons, a project of the Baltimore Gift Economy. We want to bring people together in a shared space where we can use our hearts and minds to explore shared assets and issues in Baltimore City.

In “Bag It,” an average guy makes a resolution to stop using plastic bags at the grocery store. Little does he know that this simple decision will change his life completely. He comes to the conclusion that our consumptive use of plastic has finally caught up to us, and looks at what we can do about it. Today. Right now.

Before the film, we will share a potluck dinner. Please bring a dish if you are able – but if you’re not, still come! After the film, we will discuss the content and our own reflections on the events it describes as they impact our city today.

Kids and adults welcome! A children’s play area is in the room.
