It’s almost time. The Maryland Crossroads 2013 Tour is just days away. We’re coming together to say “YES” to a clean energy future for Maryland and “NO” to dirty fracked gas exports from Cove Point.

Maryland is at a crossroads. An out-of-state company, Dominion Resources, is planning to build a $3.8 billion facility to liquefy and export fracked gas export on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay at Cove Point. The facility would encourage more dangerous fracking across the mid-Atlantic and trigger as much carbon pollution as the state’s sevel coal-fired power plants combined. This is the wrong direction for Maryland. We need to move away from dirty energy and chart a clean energy course for the state.
Dominion has been trying to keep the dangers of their plan under wraps. That’s why CCAN is crisscrossing the state this fall to sound the alarm, starting in Annapolis on November 5th and ending in Columbia on December 3rd. Which stop is closest to you? Here’s a complete list.

We already have a lot of momentum around this issue; at a town hall meeting in Lusby last week, over 300 concerned residents showed up to learn more about the risks of Dominion’s proposal.
Join us at the town hall nearest you to stand up for Maryland’s future and against fracked gas exports at Cove Point. Sign up now for the tour stop near you.
