I’m ready for a vacation, now the election is finally over. And I’m sure that there are others who feel the same way – all of your who put your heart into watching the campaigns unfold are probably right there with me. But here’s the thing. The climate won’t just stop changing while we wait.

This is our moment to make sure that all of our elected officials know that the emerging climate voting bloc is out there, and that we’re watching them. And there are two exciting ways to get out that message loud and clear in the next few weeks.

On the Presidential side of things, CCAN is teaming up with 1Sky, Energy Action, Greenpeace, Oil Change International, 350.org, Pax Christi USA, Maryland Student Climate Coalition, CarbonFree DC, League of American Bicyclists and MORE to hold the first climate event to focus on President-elect Obama, right here in Washington DC.

As we rally in DC, actions will also be taking place at literally hundreds of local congressional offices around the country with the same message: Climate Action Now!

After the rally, delegations will deliver welcome-and-take-action cards to President-elect Obama’s office and to members of Congress. Join us!

WHEN: Tuesday, November 18th from 12-1pm

WHERE: Upper Senate Park, Capitol Hill

WHAT: Rally for Climate Action Now, featuring speakers and creative visuals

RSVP here.

No matter how committed our new government is to taking action, nothing will happen without your involvement. Key decisions are being made before the inauguration and we want to make sure our call for climate action is heard loud and clear.

The other opportunity comes on the state level. This Sunday, November 9th, the Alliance for Global Warming Solutions will be offering a training to give you the tools to engage with your legislators, and hold them accountable.

Time: 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Location: Calvary United Methodist Church
301 Rowe Blvd
Annapolis, MD
